An Australian grandmother who said she was tricked into carrying drugs into Malaysia after falling for an online romance scam was Thursday sentenced to death after an earlier acquittal was overturned, her lawyer said. Maria Elvira Pinto Exposto was arrested in December 2014 while in transit at Kuala Lumpur airport with 1.1 kilos (2.4 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine stitched into the compartment of a backpack she was carrying. The 54-year-old was cleared in December of trafficking after a High Court judge ruled she did not know she was transporting the drugs. But prosecutors challenged the decision and an appeals court overturned the acquittal Thursday, and found her guilty, her lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said. Anyone caught with at least 50 grams (1.75 ounces) of crystal meth is considered a trafficker in Muslim-majority Malaysia, and death by hanging is mandatory in the case of a conviction. FAQ | Methamphetamine Shafee slammed the ruling as "perverse" and said Exposto would make a final appeal to the country's top court. "I thought there was an overwhelming case for the defence. I am shocked with the decision," he said. The mother of four argued she did not know about the hidden stash of "ice". She said she had been fooled into carrying the bag after travelling to China to see someone she met online called "Captain Daniel Smith", who had claimed to be a US serviceman. After engaging in a long online romance, Exposto had travelled to Shanghai to see "Smith". But she did not succeed in meeting her supposed love interest while there and ended up being given a bag by a stranger, who asked her to take it to Melbourne. When she arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to change flights, she mistakenly went through immigration as she was unfamiliar with the airport. She voluntarily offered her bags for customs inspection and the drugs were discovered. There are at least 900 people on death row in Malaysia, officials have said, but executions have been rare in recent years. Malaysian lawmakers have voted to amend legislation so that capital punishment is no longer mandatory in drug-trafficking cases. But the changes have not yet come into force as they must be passed by the upper house. Two Australians were hanged in Malaysia in 1986 for heroin trafficking - the first Westerners to be executed in the country - in a case that strained relations. In 2013 Dominic Bird, a former truck driver from Perth, was acquitted of drug trafficking charges after he was allegedly caught with 167 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

International journalists depart for North Korea's nuclear test site, as experts warn demolition could destroy valuable evidence

International journalists on Wednesday set out on an arduous journey to witness the dismantlement of North Korea’s nuclear test site, Punggye-ri – an event that experts predict will be more about PR than substance.  The departure of about 22 Chinese, American, Russian and British journalists, including a Sky News team, from the North Korean port city of Wonsan, was delayed in order to wait for the arrival of eight more South Korean journalists from Beijing.  The South Koreans had initially been dropped from the trip after a diplomatic spat between North and South over military drills, but that decision was suddenly reversed early on Wednesday. It followed a threat from President Donald Trump that a June summit with Kim Jong-un could be called off.  Journalists on the trip revealed that they face a 12 hour train ride, followed by four hours on a bus and then a two hour hike to reach the remote test site in the mountains of Kilju County, North Hamgyong province.  Tom Cheshire, Sky News Asia correspondent, described a surreal first day after the first batch of journalists were flown to Wonsan on a charter flight from Beijing on Tuesday.  Satellite images of the Punggye-ri test site on May 7 2018 Credit: DigitalGlobe/ScapeWare3d/DigitalGlobe/Getty Images  His team’s satellite phone and radiation dosimeter – a device to measure the level of nuclear radiation they would absorb – were immediately confiscated at the airport, he revealed.  “Officials assured us that the test site is completely safe so we would not need it, despite our repeated protests,” he wrote.  Even after arrival, the journalists were being kept in the dark about their schedule, he continued. “What is sure is that it will be what the North Korean regime want to show. On the menu: everything from fondue to steak, as well as fried turtle and shark fin soup, and row after row of silver cutlery,” he said.  “In a country that has suffered so much from famine and poverty, and which continues to suffer, it was a dislocating experience.” The journalists are expected to be able to film the dismantlement of Punggye-ri, the only active nuclear weapons test site in the world, from a viewing platform at a safe distance.   The exercise is intended by Pyongyang to show good faith over a moratorium on nuclear and missiles tests that it announced in April, amid a diplomatic thaw with South Korea and ahead of a summit with President Trump in Singapore that is still planned for June 12.  Since 2006, the North Korean regime has conducted six nuclear tests in tunnels beneath Mount Mantap, close to Punggye-ri. The most recent, on September 3 last year, caused a 6.3 magnitude earthquake.  According to several reports, the blast, which was almost 17 times the size of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima at the end of World War II, may have caused the site to partially collapse, raising concerns about the stability of the mountain itself.  In October, the Japanese media reported that a tunnel under construction had collapsed, killing up to 200 workers.  North Korea’s decision to close the site has been welcomed by the US and South Korea as a positive diplomatic gesture.  But scientists and nuclear experts, who have not been invited to the closing ceremony, have warned that the demolition of Punggye-ri’s tunnels will also destroy valuable evidence and data about the North’s weapons programmes.  North Korea's nuclear history: key moments Cheryl Rofer, a chemist who has worked all over the world on the disassembling and decommissioning of nuclear and chemical weapons, said that much information about the country’s bombs could be gleaned by allowing experts access.  “I would want to bring some capability of taking samples, and I would also want to bring a geologist with me. I’d want to have a radiation counter, I would want to go into the tunnel to see if parts of it have caved in at the back,” she told CNN.  “Isotope measurements could tell you about the design of the device, it would tell you what kind of bombs they’re making, what they’re making them out of, how much uranium and plutonium is in the bombs. We might be able to infer what they’re planning and the shape of their progress,” she said.

Georgia makes history with Stacey Abrams, the first black female nominee for governor

Georgia could be set to elect the first black female governor in US history after lawyer Stacey Abrams won the Democratic primary for the race. Ms Abrams has already made history as both the first black candidate and the first woman to be nominated by a major party in the southern state.  The 44-year-old lawyer will face a Republican candidate in November's high-stakes election.  A Democrat has not been elected governor in the deeply conservative state since 2003. Ms Abrams, who won 75 per cent of the vote in Tuesday's Democratic primary, said:  “We are writing the next chapter of Georgia’s history, where no one is unseen, no one is unheard and no one is uninspired”. "It's more, this time, this climate, right now," she told CNN before her win against Jim Gray, mayor of Lexington. "It's very clear that people are looking for more women." Ms Abrams, who has a law degree from Yale University and a masters from the University of Texas is considered a rising star within Democratic party's progressive faction.  Hillary Clinton, whom Ms Abrams strongly backed in the presidential election, recorded a robocall for her ahead of Tuesday's race.  A number of other prominent Democrats, including Bernie Sanders and Kirsten Gillibrand, have backed the Georgia nominee. Ms Abrams, who was elected to Georgia's state House of Representative in 2006, has also written eight romantic novels under the pen name Selena Montgomery.

بیشتر مذاہب کی تعلیمات اپنے پیروکاروں کی حوصلہ افزائی کرتی ہیں کہ وہ انسانیت کی خدمت کریں، لیکن اسلام کے علاوہ کوئی ایسا مذہب نہیں ہے جو اتنی سختی سے ان تعلیمات پر عمل کی ترغیب دیتا ہو۔ ماہ رمضان کی آمد کے ساتھ پاکستان کے لوگ ہمیشہ کی طرح آگے بڑھیں گے اور اپنے طور پر ہر ممکن طریقے سے دوسروں کی مدد کرتے نظر آتے ہیں۔ تاہم بعض لوگ ایسے ہوتے ہیں جو اپنی پوری زندگی انسانیت کی خدمت کےلیے وقف کردیتے ہیں۔ انہی میں سے ایک عظیم انسان ڈاکٹر محمد امجد ثاقب ہیں جو غیر منافع بخش تنظیم ’’اخوت‘‘ کے بانی ہیں۔

عربی زبان میں اخوت کا مطلب بھائی چارہ ہے اور یہ دنیا کا سب سے بڑا اسلامی مائیکرو فنانس کا ادارہ ہے۔ اس ادارے کا مقصد یہ ہے کہ ضرورت مندوں میں سود سے پاک قرضے فراہم کئے جائیں۔ ڈاکٹر امجد ثاقب مصنف، سابق سول سرونٹ، مزاج کے سخی اور ترقیاتی شعبے میں مہارت رکھنے کے ساتھ انسان دوست شخصیت کے حامل ہیں۔

اخوت کے سفر کا اصل آغاز دراصل 1400 سال قبل حضور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جانب سے مہاجرین اور انصار مدینہ کے درمیان بھائی چارہ کا تعلق قائم کرنے سے ہوا۔ وہ بتاتے ہیں کہ سال 2001 میں ہم نے اپنے دوستوں کو اخوت کا آئیڈیا پیش کیا۔ ہم نے یہ آئیڈیا حضور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ان تعلیمات سے اخذ کیا جس کے مطابق غربت ختم کرنے کا سب سے بہترین راستہ عطیات سے نہیں بلکہ قربانی اور ایثار سے آتا ہے۔ حضور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مشورہ دیا ہے کہ دولت مند شخص کو غریب انسان کے ساتھ بھائی چارے کے تعلق میں بندھنا چاہیے، اور پھر اس تعلق کے ذریعے اس کی مدد کرنی چاہیے۔ بجائے اس کے کہ اسے کچھ بھیک کی شکل میں خیرات دے۔ یہ ایک بظاہر سادہ سا تصور ہے اور اخوات اس تصور پر کام کرتے ہوئے غربت سے پاک معاشرے کی تعمیر میں سہولت فراہم کرتی ہے۔

ڈاکٹر امجد ثاقب کنگ ایڈورڈ میڈیکل کالج سے میڈیکل گریجویٹ ہیں۔ 1987 سے 1995 تک حکومت پنجاب میں ڈسٹرکٹ مینجمنٹ گروپ میں سینئر پوزیشنز پر فرائض سرانجام دیے۔ 1995 میں وہ اعلیٰ تعلیم کےلیے امریکہ گئے اور پبلک ایڈمنسٹریشن میں ماسٹرز کیا۔ وہ وطن واپس آئے اور بیوروکریسی میں اعلیٰ سطح کی پوزیشنز پر خدمات فراہم کرتے رہے۔ سال 2003 میں وہ پنجاب رورل سپورٹ پروگرام کے جنرل منیجر کی پوزیشن سے مستعفی ہوگئے اور سماجی خدمات کی فراہمی اور غربت سے پاک معاشرے کی تعمیر کےلیے اپنے آپ کو مکمل طور پر اخوت کے ساتھ وابستہ کرلیا۔

گرامین بینک اسی طرح کا ایک ادارہ ہے جو دنیا میں منظرعام پر آچکا ہے اور غریبوں کا بینک قرار پانے کی وجہ سے اسے دنیا کا سب سے بڑا نوبل انعام بھی مل گیا ہے۔ اس بینک کو پروفیسر محمد یونس نے قائم کیا۔ اس حوالے سے دنیا بھر میں اعتراف کیا جاتا ہے کہ یہ بینک تخفیف غربت کے نظام میں بڑی تبدیلی لے کر آیا ہے۔ لیکن کچھ دیر کےلیے توقف کریں اور گرامین کا اخوت کے ساتھ موازنہ کریں۔ صرف تصوراتی طور پر نہیں، بلکہ ٹھوس حقائق کی بنیاد پر جائزہ لیں۔

سب سے بڑا فرق یہ ہے کہ نوبل انعام یافتہ گرامین بینک کے تصور میں غریب کو قرضے کے ساتھ سود بھی ادا کرنا پڑتا ہے جبکہ اخوت کے تصور میں غریب کو سود کے بجائے اصل رقم واپس کرنی ہوتی ہے۔ ڈاکٹر امجد ثاقب بتاتے ہیں کہ ایک غیر ملکی دورے میں ان کی پروفیسر محمد یونس سے ملاقات ہوئی جس میں پروفیسر محمد یونس نے حیرانی کے ساتھ ڈاکٹر محمد امجد ثاقب سے استفسار کیا کہ اگرچہ گرامین بینک معمولی سود وصول کررہا ہے، لیکن اخوت کس طرح سے لاکھوں لوگوں کو مکمل طور پر غیر سودی قرضے فراہم کرنے کا انتظام کرتی ہے؟ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ دنیا بھر میں کہیں بھی سود کے بغیر اربوں کے قرضے فراہم نہیں کیے گئے۔

ڈاکٹر محمد امجد ثاقب فخریہ طور پر بتاتے ہیں؛ “اخوت سال 2001 سے اب تک 26 لاکھ گھرانوں کو قرض کی شکل میں 61 ارب روپے فراہم کرچکی ہے۔ اس کی ریکوری کی شرح 99.91 فیصد ہے۔ پاکستان بھر میں فی الوقت ہمارے برانچ نیٹ ورک میں 800 سے زائد یونٹس ہیں۔ ملک گیر سطح پر ہماری موجودگی اس بات کا ثبوت ہے کہ قابل عمل آپریشنز اور گہرے اثرات کی بدولت ترقی کا ہمارا ماڈل انتہائی پائیدار ہے۔”

انہوں نے بتایا، “چھوٹے قرضوں کے ہمارے ماڈل کی ہارورڈ کینیڈی اسکول کے ماہرین نے بھی توثیق کی ہے، جبکہ مختلف فلاحی اداروں جیسے الخدمت فاؤنڈیشن، کاوش ٹرسٹ وغیرہ نے بھی اس ماڈل کو اختیار کیا ہے۔ میری دانست میں اسلامی مائیکرو فنانس واحد ایسا راستہ ہے جو سب سے آسان اور سب سے منفرد انداز سے غربت کا خاتمہ کرسکتا ہے۔ اس کی بنیاد مواخات ہے، جس کا فلسفہ بانٹنا اور عملی طور پر ہمدردی کرنا ہے۔”

اگر عالمی رہنماؤں کی جانب سے گرامین اور اخوت کے درمیان موازنہ کرایا جائے تو میں یہ کہنے میں حق بجانب ہوں کہ اخوت کو بھی نوبل انعام دیا جائے۔ دنیا میں بڑے قرضے دینے والے اخوت سے سبق سیکھیں، لیکن وہ ایسا کیوں کریں گے؟ ان کی دلچسپی ہے کہ مزید منافع اور پیسہ بنایا جائے، انسانی فلاح و بہبود میں ان کی کوئی دلچسپی نہیں ہے۔

ڈاکٹر محمد امجد ثاقب کا خیال ہے کہ رحم دلی اور مساوات کے اصولوں کی بنیاد پر غربت سے پاک معاشرہ قائم کیا جاسکتا ہے۔ غربت صرف محدود وسائل سے نہیں ہوتی، بلکہ یہ سماجی انصاف اور اخلاقیات کی محرومی سے در آتی ہے۔ غربت کی سب سے بدتر شکل مایوسی ہے۔

ڈاکٹر امجد ثاقب اور اخوت کی ٹیم پسماندہ اور غربت سے دوچار طبقے کو سماجی دھارے میں لانے کےلیے کام کررہی ہے۔ اس ضمن میں سود سے پاک چھوٹے باسہولت قرضے، اچھی تعلیم کی مفت فراہمی اور رعایتی نرخوں پر صحت کی خدمات فراہم کی جارہی ہیں۔ پاکستان میں پسماندہ طبقے کو غربت سے نکالنے کےلیے سب سے بڑے ادارے پاکستان پاورٹی ایلی وئیشن فنڈ (PPAF) کے ساتھ بھی اخوت کام کررہا ہے۔ ڈاکٹر امجد ثاقب دنیا میں اس عظیم کام کےلیے جذبے اور اخلاص کی مثال قائم کررہے ہیں کہ کس طرح سے ایک شخص اپنے اخلاص سے بھرپور ارادوں کے ذریعے اسلامی اصولوں پر حقیقی طور پر چل کر دنیا کو بہتر بنا رہے ہیں۔

ماہ رمضان میں ہمارے ہاں بڑے پیمانے پر لوگ زکوٰۃ اور صدقات نکالتے ہیں، اس لیے ارد گرد کے ماحول پر نظر رکھنے کے ساتھ لوگوں کو اخوت جیسے اداروں کے ساتھ تعاون کےلیے عملی اقدام اٹھانا چاہیے۔

 اسلام آباد: مسلم لیگ (ن) کی رہنما مریم نواز نے نیب ریفرنسز کی سماعت کے دوران عدالت میں بیان دیا ہے کہ لندن فلیٹس حسین نواز کی ملکیت ہیں جب کہ نیلسن اورنیسکول کمپنی کے بینیفشل مالک بھی وہی تھے۔

اسلام آباد میں احتساب عدالت کے جج محمد بشیرنے شریف خاندان کے خلاف دائر نیب ریفرنسزکی سماعت کی، مریم نوازنے مسلسل دوسرے روز بھی عدالت کی جانب سے پوچھے گئے 82 سوالات کے جواب میں اپنا بیان قلمبند کروادیا جب کہ کمرہ عدالت میں نوازشریف اورکیپٹن ریٹائرڈ صفدرکے علاوہ مسلم لیگ (ن) کے کئی رہنما موجود تھے۔

دادا پورے خاندان کے کفیل تھے

مریم نواز نے اپنے بیان میں کہا کہ یہ حقیقت ہے میرے دادا میاں شریف پورے خاندان کی کفالت کرتے تھے، وہ ناصرف خاندان کے ارکان کے اخراجات اٹھاتے بلکہ سب کو ماہانہ جیب خرچ بھی دیتے تھے۔

لندن فلیٹس کی ملکیت

مریم نوازنے کہا کہ لندن فلیٹس حسین نوازکی ملکیت ہیں، نیلسن اورنیسکول کمپنی کے بینیفشل مالک بھی وہی تھے، مجھے ان دونوں کمپنیوں کا ٹرسٹ ڈیڈ کے ذریعے ٹرسٹی بنایا گیا، میں نے جے آئی ٹی میں نوٹری پبلک سے تصدیق شْدہ ڈیکلریشن پیش کئے، ان کے انٹرویو سے متعلق سوال مجھ سے متعلق نہیں، حسین نوازکے نجی ٹی وی کوانٹرویو کی سی ڈی اور اس کا متن قانون کے مطابق نہیں۔

واجد ضیا بدنیت

نواز شریف کی صاحبزادی کا کہنا تھا کہ سپریم کورٹ نے مجھے اورمیرے شوہر کو شامل تفتیش ہونے کا حکم نہیں دیا، واجد ضیاء نے جان بوجھ کر بدنیتی پر مبنی اورمن گھڑت بیان دیا، جے آئی ٹی نے سپریم کورٹ کی ہدایت نہ ہونے کے باوجود ماہرین کی رائے لی، رابرٹ ریڈلے کی خدمات راجہ اختر کے ذریعے لی گئیں، جس کا مقصد رپورٹ پر اثرانداز ہونا تھا، مقصد یہ تھا کہ مطلب کی رپورٹ حاصل کرکے مجھے اور میرے شوہر کو کیس میں ملوث کیا جا سکے، راجہ اختراعتراف کرچکے ہیں کہ رابرٹ ریڈلے کو جے آئی ٹی براہ راست یا دفتر خارجہ کے ذریعے لے جا سکتی تھی۔

رابرٹ ریڈلے کی رپورٹ پر اعتراض

مریم نوازنے کہا کہ رابرٹ ریڈلے کی رپورٹ اسکین کاپی کے ذریعے تیارکی گئی جو قابل قبول شہادت نہیں، یہ رپورٹ فرانزک سائنس کے معیارپر پورا نہیں اترتی، واجد ضیاء نے رابرٹ ریڈلے کی رپورٹ کی مجھ سے دوبارہ تصدیق نہیں کرائی، ٹرسٹ ڈیڈ کی رابرٹ ریڈلے کو ترسیل اورجے آئی ٹی کو رپورٹ کی وصولی ایک معمہ ہے ،رپورٹ ہفتے کے روز تیار ہوئی اور ہفتے کو لندن میں کام نہیں کیا جاتا۔

کیلبری فونٹ پر اعتراض کا جواب

رابرٹ ریڈلے کی رپورٹ پراعتراض کرتے ہوئے مریم نوازنے کہا کہ رابرٹ ریڈلے کی سافٹ وئیر اورکمپیوٹر سائنس میں کوئی کوالیفکیشن نہیں، وہ فونٹ کی شناخت کا ماہربھی نہیں، ونڈووسٹا بیٹا ورژن اپریل 2005 میں دستیاب تھا، رابرٹ ریڈلے نے تسلیم کیا کہ کیلبری فونٹ کے خالق کو یہ فونٹ ڈیزائن کرنے پر2005 میں ایوارڈ ملا، رابرٹ ریڈلے نے خود کہا کہ انہوں نے کیلبری فونٹ کو ڈاوٴن لوڈ کیا۔

قطری خاندان سے کاروباری تعلق

مریم نواز کا کہنا تھا کہ قطری شہزادے نے جے آئی ٹی میں شامل تفتیش ہونے سے انکار نہیں کیا، قطری شہزادہ اپنے پیلس میں بیان ریکارڈ کرانے کے لیے تیار تھے، قطری خطوط اور منی ٹریل پرورک شیٹ سےمتعلق سوال کا مجھ سے تعلق نہیں اور ان سے متعلق متفرق درخواستوں میں فریق بھی نہیں ہوں، قطری خاندان کے ساتھ کاروبار اور کسی ٹرانزیکشن سے میرا کوئی تعلق نہیں رہا، استغاثہ کےشواہد سےبھی میرا قطری خاندان سے کاروبار میں کوئی تعلق ظاہر نہیں ہوتا۔

مسقط: بحیرہ عرب میں بننے والے والے سمندری طوفان ’میکونو‘ نے یمن میں تباہی مچادی ہے جس کے بعد اب اس کا رخ عمان کی جانب ہے۔

غیر ملکی خبر ایجنسیوں کے مطابق بحیرہ عرب میں بننے والے سمدنری طوفان ’’میکونو‘‘ نے یمن کے جزیرے سقطریٰ میں تباہی پھیلادی ہے، جزیرے پر سیلاب کی صورت حال ہے جہاں سے سیکڑوں لوگوں کو محفوظ مقامات پرمنتقل کردیا گیا ہے تاہم کھلے سمندر میں موجود 2 کشتیوں پر سوار 19 افراد لاپتہ ہوگئے ہیں۔ جزیرے کے گورنر رمزی معروف کے مطابق ساحلی علاقے پرواقع کئی دیہات کو شدید نقصان پہنچا ہے۔

3 روزقبل محکمہ موسمیات نے عندیا دیا تھا کہ بحیرہ عرب میں آئندہ 24 گھنٹوں میں طوفان کا خطرہ ہے اوریہ طوفان عمان و یمن کے ساحلی علاقوں سے ٹکرائے گا تاہم  پاکستان کے ساحلی مقامات پر اس طوفان کے کوئی بھی اثرات نمودارنہیں ہوں گے۔

واضح رہے کہ سقطری جزیرہ نما عرب اور ہارن آف افریقا کے درمیان واقع ہے ۔یہ جزیرہ یمن میں گذشتہ تین سال سے جاری جنگ کے دوران میں تشدد سے بچا رہا ہے ۔اس پر یمن کی بین الاقوامی سطح پرتسلیم شدہ حکومت کا کنٹرول ہے۔

لاہور: سینٹرل جیل میں قید بھارتی شہری کی 36 سال بعد شہریت کی تصدیق ہوگئی ہے گجنندشرما بھارتی شہر جے پورکا رہائشی ہے جو 1982 میں لاپتہ ہوگیا تھا۔

لاہورکی سینٹرل جیل میں قیدبھارتی شہری گجنندشرما کی شہریت کی تصدیق کے لیے متعددبار بھارتی حکام کو خطوط لکھے گئے، ذرائع کے مطابق آخری بار 4 فروری کو گجنندشرما کی شہریت کے تصدیق کے لیے لکھے گئے خط پر موثرکارروائی کی گئی ہے۔

بھارتی حکام کی طرف سے پاکستانی حکام کوبتایا گیا ہے کہ گجنند شرما 1982 میں جے پور میں لاپتہ ہوا تھا، گجنند شرما کی بیوی لاکھنی دیوی اور دو بیٹوں راکیش اورمکیش کوتلاش کرلیا گیا ہے، لاکھنی دیوی اوران کے بیٹوں نے پاکستان کی طرف سے بھیجی گئی گجنند شرما کی تصویردیکھ کراسے پہچان لیا ہے، ان کے مطابق وہ کئی برسوں تک گجنند شرما کی تلاش کرتے رہے اوربالآخر ان کی امید ختم ہوگئی تھی، تاہم گجنند شرما کے زندہ ہونے کی خبرملنے کے بعد ان کی خوشی کا کوئی ٹھکانہ نہیں رہا۔

پاکستانی وزارت داخلہ کے حکام کا کہنا ہے جیسے ہی بھارت کی طرف سے گجنند شرما کی شہریت کی باقاعدہ تصدیق کی دستاویزات موصول ہوں گی اس کی رہائی کے بارے میں اقدامات شروع کیے جائیں گے۔

واضح رہے کہ دونوں ملکوں کی جیلوں میں درجنوں ایسے قیدی موجود ہیں جن کی سزائیں مکمل ہوچکی ہیں مگران کی شہریت کی تصدیق نہ ہونے کی وجہ سے ان کی رہائی ممکن نہیں ہوپارہی ہے۔
